Seraphim Overview – Company History

Seraphim was founded in 2011 and is a Chinese solar panel company. The company was founded with the goal of improving the world through constant solar innovation, and it is backed by a research and development team of over 100 people. Over 100 technical patents have been filed as a result of this research.

Seraphim has distributed modules to more than 40 countries globally, with production operations in China, South Africa, and Vietnam. Seraphim is a mid-tier solar module manufacturer in the global market, with a production capacity of 5 GW.

Seraphim made its debut in the Australian market in 2012. Seraphim continued its drive into the Australian market in mid-2020, signing a 50 MW solar module supply agreement with Raystech Group, an Australian solar reseller, and importer. In the Australian market, the firms that import Seraphim Solar’s panels are responsible for handling warranty claims.

What is the difference between a Bloomberg Tier 1 Solar Panel and a Bloomberg Tier 2 Solar Panel?

Bloomberg’s infamous tier 1 designation is in no way indicative of the quality of solar panels. It’s just an assessment of the manufacturer’s bankability based on publicly available financial data. If the company is a significant, well-known manufacturer, this should offer you an indication.

The complete list of Bloomberg Tier 1 Solar Panels may be found here.

What is the top performer at PV Evolution Labs?

PV Evolution Labs independently tests solar panel dependability with the help of DNV GL. The tests are completely voluntary, with solar panel producers paying to take part. This testing procedure is well-known around the world, and it accurately reflects the solar panel’s performance.

Seraphim Solar Panels are currently placed among the Top Performers in PV Evolution Labs’ newest report in four of the six annual tests.

What Is the Importance of Having an Office in Australia?

Most solar panel manufacturers who enter the Australian market focus on setting up distribution channels first, then on customer service. As a result, many disgruntled consumers are left trying to contact Chinese headquarters in order to collect their device warranty. Seraphim’s global website lists a Melbourne sales center, but there is no way to handle warranty claims there. The warranty claim function has been outsourced to SAE Group, a solar installer based in Tweed Heads, New South Wales.

Relying on your solar installer isn’t always a good idea, as many residential solar installers (including the big ones) have gone out of business before the systems they install have even been installed.

They now have a shared office space on Collins Street in Melbourne and a phone line in Australia (03 9900 6423). They have yet to launch an Australian website, despite the fact that most other Chinese solar panel manufacturers have done so, implying that they are focusing on the Australian market with low overheads.

Dual-glass technology is used in the SRP-BMB-DG Series, which means that both the front and back sheets are composed of glass. This reduces the likelihood of faults and degradation, but the 120 Cell panels are slightly heavier, weighing 22.5 kilos. Seraphim can offer a 15-year product warranty and a 30-year performance warranty due to the increased durability of the panels (compared to 10 years of product and 25 years of performance for the s2 and s3 series). SRP-410-BMA-DG achieves maximum efficiency of 19.89 in this series.

Commercial Solar Project Seraphim

The system that was installed for the lighting retailer Beacon in June of 2016 is an example of a Seraphim commercial project. The system was made up of 384 SRP-260-6PB modules with a total capacity of 100kW. The installation of the system in Melbourne took a team of nine technicians two weeks to complete and connect to the grid. It will significantly reduce Beacon’s energy consumption costs, with an estimated annual electricity production of 130 thousand kW/h. A Tesla electric car charger was also installed as part of the project. Seraphim’s innovative drive was on display, as evidenced by the installed panel array for Beacon. (as seen below)
