Q Cells manufactures a variety of solar panels for household, commercial, and utility-scale use. Q Cells has increased efficiency across its range by incorporating Mono PERC half-cut cells with multi-busbars (MBB) on all new generation panels, similar to most large volume manufacturers. Q Cells has shifted to a high-density cell architecture on the new G9 and G10 series to boost efficiency even more. This eliminates vertical gaps between the cells and increases cell surface area across the panel.

 

Residential Panels from Q Cells

Q Cells introduced the new G9 series two years ago, which are the most advanced panels produced by Korean and German R&D teams and offer a variety of cell upgrades to boost panel efficiency above 21%. Q.antum DUO Z technology is a revolutionary cell design that comprises of half-cut monocrystalline PERC cells with 12 micro busbars fitted into a new high-density panel configuration. High-density cells remove vertical gaps between cells, resulting in increased cell surface area and, as a result, improved efficiency and performance.

The product guarantee on the premium G9+ series is 25 years, while the basic G9 series has a 12-year warranty, as described in the warranty section below.

On most panels, Q Cells provides an industry-standard 12-year product guarantee as well as a 25-year performance warranty. The guarantee for the G9+ and G10+ (plus) panels available in Australia, however, has been increased from 12 to 25 years.

Review of Q Cells Solar And Battery: The new Qcells third-generation home battery system has a considerably more beautiful appearance than the previous Q.Home G2 system and appears to be an entirely revamped version of it. The new Q. Home Core H5S system likewise uses horizontally connected high voltage (HV) batteries, but the battery capacity has been raised to 6.8kWh with 95 percent usable capacity. Up to three of the higher capacity batteries can be linked together to offer up to 20.5kWh of storage, more than enough for most residential families. It’s unclear what cell chemistry is being used, but given that the new system now comes with a 15-year warranty, we’re guessing they’re utilizing new Samsung SDI cells. The new Q.VOLT hybrid inverter is more powerful on the solar side, with a higher 5kW power rating and up to 8kW of solar input as well as a larger MPPT operating voltage range that allows more solar panels to be connected (4kW per MPPT). The new inverter also includes instantaneous backup with a 0.1 second switching time, similar to a UPS system. However, with two or more batteries installed, or when solar (PV) is connected and working during the day, the entire 5kW backup power is available. When only one battery is attached, backup power is lowered to 3.3kW.
