Astronergy Solar made a big attempt to re-enter the Australian market in 2017, striking up relationships with key solar product distribution agreements including Solar Juice, Powerark, and Metal Manufacturers after an initial trial with a local distributor from 2009 to 2012. (which includes TLE Electrical, AWM Electrical, Haymans Electrical). Astronergy is expanding their market share in Australia by investing over $60 million in large-scale solar farm projects, although they still have a small part of the residential and commercial sector.

The UNSW and Astronergy have signed a technical cooperation agreement.

What is the difference between a Bloomberg Tier 1 Solar Panel and a Bloomberg Tier 2 Solar Panel?

Bloomberg’s infamous tier 1 designation is in no way indicative of the quality of solar panels. It’s just an assessment of the manufacturer’s bankability based on publicly available financial data. If the company is a significant, well-known manufacturer, this should offer you an indication.

Bloomberg Tier 1 includes Astronergy Solar Panels.

Why is it important to have an office in Australia?

Most solar panel manufacturers who enter the Australian market focus on setting up distribution channels first, then on customer service. As a result, many disgruntled consumers are attempting to contact Chinese headquarters in order to claim their 10-year product warranty.

Relying on your solar installation isn’t always a good idea, as over 700 home solar installers (including the big ones) have gone out of business since 2011.

In 2019, Astronergy Solar opened an office in Adelaide to provide local support.

What are the prices of Astronergy Solar Panels?

We’ve offered the below-average costs as a suggestion based on Solar Choice’s database. These costs include the following:

Astronergy Solar Panels provide a complete turnkey solar system.

Solar Choice’s network of pre-vetted, reliable installers will install your system.

STC and GST rebates are available. Average Fully Installed Cost 10kW $9,000

8KW $7,000

6kW $5,500

Important Note: Prices vary depending on the region, inverter brand, and installer.

Smart Factories from Astronergy use artificial intelligence to detect flaws.

The video below, provided by Astronergy, shows a Solar Panel going through its automated procedure for detecting flaws in solar cells. The cracks and impurities they find can cause hotspots and production loss over the panel’s lifetime. If a flaw was discovered, the Astronergy employee in the video below would remove the panel from the production line.

Manufacturers might have a small quality control crew scanning through the panels to discover problems without AI technology supporting them, possibly only identifying what is visible to the naked eye.

Solar Panel Technologies by Astronergy

All of the panels they now sell in Australia are resistant to salt mist corrosion and may be installed in any area.

Astronergy now offers four-panel series: AstroTwins, AstroSemi, AstroHalo, and AstroNova. They can manufacture panels with up to 20.7 percent efficiency at the time of updating this article (November 2020). (Astro 5 400W).

The Clean Energy Council (listed under the parent firm Chint Solar Zhejiang Co Ltd) has authorized the majority of Astronergy solar panels for the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme — Australia’s home solar rebate scheme.

Astronergy is a series of AstroTwins. Bifacial solar panel by Astrotwins The term “bi-facial” refers to a solar panel that can absorb light from both the top and bottom, increasing production by up to 30%. (depending on what the light is reflected off)

The monocrystalline half-cut solar cells in this series boost power density and shadow resistance.

For reflected light, the front side has a 20.2 percent efficiency rate, while the backside has a 14.2 percent efficiency rate.

The AstroTwin series incorporates glass on the front and back, compared to the typical white EVA plastic back-sheet, which improves the solar panel’s resilience and reduces UV degradation to 0.5 percent each year (0.7 percent a year is an industry-standard)

Should I Invest in Astronergy Solar Panels?

Astronergy Solar Panels do not have the same track record in Australia as some of the more well-known manufacturers, hence they can normally be found at lower pricing. With a new and smaller presence in Australia, it’s possible that you’ll have more trouble than other brands in the future getting warranty (if needed).

Nonetheless, they are one of the few panel manufacturers that have been rated a DNV GL Top Performer in three of the six testing protocols. The higher-quality Astronergy modules (such as the Astro 5 series) include cutting-edge technology and are competitive with some of the market’s premium solutions.

Astronergy panels are a suitable fit for Australian clients, as they are also regarded bankable for Solar Farm projects and have been picked for several utility-scale projects in Australia.

The Goonumbla Solar Farm in NSW is an example of an Astronergy solar project.

May 2020 is the date.
