Can a DVD or CD disc in direct sunlight start a fire?
I notice they do reflect a certain amount of light in a concentrated point but not all of it like a magnifying glass. I do remember hearing something about them starting a house fire but I don’t know if it is true and I cannot find anything on it.
The reason I ask is I want to make use of all these AOL discs I have. I want to silicon a row or so of these discs on a platform and mount the platform under my solar panel to reflect even more light into it to possibly make the solar panel work even better.

No, the discs are flat. They would have to be bent in in a parabolic shape to actually be able to concentrate the light on something. Being flat would be just like having a mirror against the sun.
