(10pts. for best answer)
what is the typical amperage

I’m pretty sure that this is the same light, only shown with a removable top cap:

http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&productId=100056021&N=10000003+90401

As it says on the Home Depot site, the light uses 12V and is 4W.

So, that means there’s 1/3A going through these guys.

Hope this helps!

How do I fix my solar garden light?

I know I’m being very ambiguous, but it does the reverse to what it should. The light glows when the solar panel is in the sun, but not when it’s in the shade.
It’s brand new

Take it back to the store. It should work like this. The solar panel charges the battery during the day light hours, and the lights deplete the charge at night. Then it start all over again. You probably got a bad battery and it’s not holding a charge. The lights glow when it’s in the sun because the solar panel is feeding the lights directly.

Ive had solar garden lights for 2 days now but not to much sun out there… and they are still not on yet?? whats wrong??

I wouldn’t worry too much since you said you have not had much sun.

I copied this from a website…thought you might be interested to know.

The problem with solar garden lights is that they tend to have only a small area of solar cells and a relatively modest battery capacity. The consequences of these shortcomings are that solar garden lights have a reputation for emitting a small amount of light for a short period of time.
