I was having a debate with my friend about ways to make the environment better and to have a better energy reliance than oil. One idea that was floated was to have every street lamp based on solar power (with backup electrical grid power in case it rains or something) anyway, here was the debate which we need your answers to: Is it better to have a solar panel on each street light OR Is it better to keep the street lights as they are and just install solar panel hubs around the city that feeds into the electrical grid?

Until compact onsite electrical storage becomes practical, it’s better to have centralized solar power stations feeding power to the electrical grid, because 1) the wiring to the lamps are already in place and/or are necessary anyway for times of no sun, and 2) greater efficiencies and easier maintenance is possible at large solar power installations than with thousands of small solar collectors. However, independent "off the grid" solar powered devices is the trend. For example, through fuel cell technology, compact solar energy storage may become possible and practical, in which case high efficiency street lamps may go off the grid, thereby reducing wiring needs.

SOLAR FRIENDS
Like every day of our lives the sun falls and the moon raises
our friend ship needs a rest to start fresh in the morning
we both are stars in a sky but not one shines brighter then the next
we are both equal. Friend ship is an equal amount of effort
trust, support, communication, loyalty, understanding, empathy
if one star is over worked it explodes
if we don’t keep our friend ship equal it will explode
sometimes unfixable and others may be easier to put back together
Every time you explode a piece of the friend ship is lost or gained
Some fights make you stronger others ruin everything
As we get older we are gods and goddesses of the universe
we get older and sometimes the revolutions we take don’t end up going the same way
but others revolve together and stay together forever
the one we may love might interfere but friends learn to deal
we hope gravity will keep us grounded but if the best of friends aren’t
there you may just float away
When our relationship Is fired up and red hot the light to our friend ship is dying out like a sun
everyone hopes to keep us blue so we can last forever and never die out
If we die out so will the beauty of nature that surrounds us
you are lost not knowing where to turn but left with nothing but your thoughts and the stars gaze at

This is not a poem it is a lot of thoughts put together.
If you want to write poetry you need to keep the thoughts tight,
you have too many words, no rhythm and it does not really grab ones attention.
Good luck in your writing attempts, practice makes perfect I was told.

Some examples of how the Anthropic Principle directly affects the livability of our planet include:

The unique properties of water. Every known life form depends on water. Thankfully, unlike every other substance known to man, water’s solid form (ice) is less dense than its liquid form. This causes ice to float. If ice did not float, our planet would experience runaway freezing. Other important properties of water include its solvency, cohesiveness, adhesiveness and other thermal properties.

Earth’s atmosphere. If there was too much of just one of the many gases which make up our atmosphere, our planet would suffer a runaway greenhouse effect. On the other hand, if there were not enough of these gases, life on this planet would be devastated by cosmic radiation.

Earth’s reflectivity or “albedo” (the total amount of light reflected off the planet versus the total amount of light absorbed). If Earth’s albedo were much greater than it is now we would experience runaway freezing. If it were much less than it is we would experience a runaway greenhouse effect.

Earth’s magnetic field. If it were much weaker, our planet would be devastated by cosmic radiation. If it were much stronger, we would be devastated by severe electromagnetic storms.

Earth’s place in the solar system. If we were much further from the Sun, our planet’s water would freeze. If we were much closer, it would boil. This is just one of numerous examples of how our privileged place in the solar system allows for life on Earth.

Our solar system’s place in the galaxy. Once again, there are numerous examples of this. For instance, if our solar system was too close to the center of our galaxy, or to any of the spiral arms at its edge, or any cluster of stars for that matter, our planet would be devastated by cosmic radiation.

The color of our Sun. If the Sun were much redder on the one hand or bluer on the other, photosynthesis would be impeded. Photosynthesis is a natural biochemical process crucial to life on Earth.

great gazoo….isn’t so great….
it was a pointless answer to begin with…

And yet, none of these properties have any great permenance. Why would a God design a spot perfect for the development of intelligent life, if, a cosmic moment or two later, it’s going to drift into the wrong part of the galaxy, or the magnetic field of the planet changes (which ours has with astonishing regularity)? Is everything the way it is because it’s crucial to life as we know it? Or is life as we know it the way life is, because it has adapted itself to the conditions here? In a galaxy among many, many, with each galaxy have many, many stars, are you certain that this set of conditions, if rare, doesn’t still come up regularly? You deal enough hands of poker, and even the rarest of combinations are going to come up every so often. Are you certain our unique status is truly unique, or did God set things up for say, two or three planets out of every galaxy to have what we have?

Is everything the way it is because it’s crucial to life as we know it? Or is life as we know it the way life is, because it has adapted itself to the conditions here? In a galaxy among many, many, with each galaxy have many, many stars, are you certain that this set of conditions, if rare, doesn’t still come up regularly? You deal enough hands of poker, and even the rarest of combinations are going to come up every so often. Are you certain our unique status is truly unique, or did God set things up for say, two or three planets out of every galaxy to have what we have?

what is at the center of planets and stars?
what are beautiful displays of light in space?
what is an icey visitor to the solar system?
what is a blemish on the surface of the sun?
what would float in a bathtub?
what is also known as a minor planet?
what is another name for a planet’s moon?

what is at the center of planets and stars? a core – like at the center of a tootsie roll. How many licks to get there?

what are beautiful displays of light in space? Fireworks, or an aurora. Very cool colors.

what is an icey visitor to the solar system? An cold alien, or a comet.

what is a blemish on the surface of the sun? A zit (especially on a teenage son), or a sun spot.

what would float in a bathtub? a toy boat. Saturn needs a bathtub so big that once filled with water would quickly turn into a large planet in it’s own right that would swallow Saturn before you could say "Toy Boat three times fast".

what is also known as a minor planet? Pluto, or an asteroid. The Earth does not have a minor planet number as yet. Not sure why not, given the current definition. I’ve suggested zero.

what is another name for a planet’s moon? The Earth’s moon is called the Moon, meaning it has no other name. But some might refer to it as a satellite.

India is the world’s spiritual incubator for Enlightened Masters
landing on planet Earth. No where else do we find such a rich
heritage of experiences of the superconscious state. For that reason,
we are highlighting the Gifted Memory of Thakur Anukulchandra, who
lived as an enlightened master in India teaching about the highest
spiritual form of human life, as described in Cosmic Cradle.
We first present Thakur Anukulchandra’s advanced Gifted Memory in
which he observes the entire process of creation, from the prime
indivisible point to this widely evolved vast universe, the Creator
and the created both. Next we share cross-cultural parallels to
Thakur Anukulchandra’s memories. These parallels contain bits and
pieces of his exhaustive memory.
Enlightened individuals do not necessarily describe their memories of
birth or their existence before this lifetime since they have all
dissolved their egos and prefer to avoid discussing their private
histories. Therefore, we are grateful to Thakur for inspiring us with
one of the most extensive accounts illustrating how much human memory
may encompass. Thakur’s high state of enlightenment is an important
consideration in the power of his memories. Few enlightened masters
seem to share these memories but more accounts may exist in the
untranslated biographies of other masters.
Thakur Anukulchandra was a renowned Indian guru, physician, and
founder of the Satsang ashram. Anukulchandra set up schools,
charitable hospitals, engineering workshops, a publishing house, and
a printing press. He was a prolific writer; noted among his ninety-
four books are Satyanusaran, Punyapunthi, Anushruti, Chalar Sathi,
Shashvati, and Pritibinayak.
Thakur was born in 1888 in the primitive village of Himayitpur where
tigers, bears and poisonous snakes roamed freely in the streets even
during the day. The village was situated on the bank of the river
Padma, where crocodiles floated on the surface of water freely. As a
young boy, Thakur used to swim in the River Padma along with the
crocodiles. Very often he went deep to the bottom of River Padma to
meditate for a long period and he never felt discomfort due to
cessation of respiration.
From early youth, Thakur frequently became absorbed in melodious
songs to the Almighty. At that time, his body temperature would rise
above 110F. He had no pulse. In that stage of superconsciousness,
Thakur felt as if he had been expanded to bear the whole Universe in
Him. He felt responsible for all events happening in the Universe. He
felt his existence among all living entities around him. In that
stage of consciousness, a horse was beaten in front of him and the
cane marks on the horse’s back appeared distinctly on the back of
Thakur.

Cosmic Memory and the Big Bang
Thakur Anukulchandra (1888-1969 India)

COSMIC CRADLE Stories:
I recall how a prime point let itself explode into millions of hyper
atoms. Each hyper atom then burst into millions of supra-hyper atoms
resulting in an uncut indivisible physically inconceivable point. I
witnessed that ultimate point – the Cosmic Soul – create an infinity
of beings out of itself like thousands of sparks coming from a fire.
The souls were destined to live through a series of lives so long as
they remained subject to the illusion of personal individuality.
From the beginning of Creation until my present life, my ego passed
through various phases prior to being encaged in a living body, last
of all human. My chain of human births include a cobbler, prince, and
spiritual seeker. In the gap between each death and rebirth, I felt
empathy for family members whom I watched grieving for me.
I dwelled in an undefined higher region prior to my present life. My
journey to Earth involved traveling through a yet undiscovered system
of celestial constellations. I traversed a vast distance in space,
passing through 44,000 planets. While our planets rotate around the
Sun, I observed that lakhs of suns rotate around a bigger sun.
I also proceeded through a former planet that had split into pieces,
and observed a planetary system yet to be discovered by science.
Still fresh in my memory is the strange behavior of a unique
constellation – a central star surrounded by four other stars. The
four stars appeared red when they approached the central star and
turned blue when they moved away through a principle known to science
as the Doppler Effect.
En route to Earth, I stopped at various planets where celestial
beings welcomed me with a grand ovation. Each planet had unique life
forms suited to their atmospheres, unlike any found on Earth. I felt
a pang of separation as the planetary beings chanted hymns in my
praise as I departed from their planet.
I finally arrived in our solar system by coming through a ray of
light and descending into the Sun. I was not burnt to ashes. The
Sun’s interior is very cold, the heat is on its surface. Just think,
I descend from inside the sun by a track. If one takes the track from
here, would see pitch darkness just on the left and on the right, not
right, rather diagonally he would see light only. He would witness
44,000 planets on the way, one of which is split into pieces.
Parallel I
I recall how a prime point let itself explode into millions of hyper
atoms. Each hyper atom then burst into millions of supra-hyper atoms
resulting in an uncut indivisible physically inconceivable point. I
witnessed that ultimate point – the Cosmic Soul – create an infinity
The souls were destined to live through a series of lives so long as
they remained subject to the illusion of personal individuality. —

Readers of Cosmic Cradle have shared their comments with Elizabeth and Neil via email, letters, and at public appearances. Here are some examples:

Reviewer: Sandra Hughes
Fascinating! The Carmans asked the pre-life questions, then painstakingly did the research, their information is not just from the West, but from worldwide cultures. This book is a goldmine! Beautifully organized and compiled.

Reviewer: Susan Herzberger
"I feel privileged to own this book. Not only is it a masterpiece in how it is written with such clarity, interest and organization but the scope of its contents is pointedly destined to change our ideas about life. The evidence is stacked up too high in this book to dismiss its message of the soul’s immortality. Every once in a while a book comes out
