Lights for decking to create an effective ambience?

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

I dont want inbuilt lights nor solar. I have an outside weatherproof box for electric cables and was thinking of string bamboo party lights or something similiar. Can anyone tell me what they have used or can recommend what they have seen elsewhere. Thanks!

Yes string lights can look cheery. You could also buy a low voltage lighting system from B&Q etc which plugs straight into a socket, and you can’t get an electric shock. You buy the thin cable and attach any of several different lights available, you can also attach dot lights that can be hung or laid out on the floor of the deck.

How much can I get for my lightsworn deck?

Monday, September 28th, 2009

I just want to know how much I can get for it should I sell it seperatly or all together:
1 jd 2honest 2 charge of the light brigade 3 solar recharge heavy trundae foolish burial 2 cold wave monster reborn monster reincarnation synchros 2beckoning light solemn mirror force torrential 3 lumina 3 wulf 3 celestia 3 Lyla 2 Druid reinforcements royal decree 3 necro gardna magic cylinder

I’d say with the cards you listed that your deck is about $400-$450. It’d be worth more if you had a full deck. Another JD, Honest, and Charge would have brought it close to $650-$700.

Can anyone recommend some good outdoor string lights that I can put up around my decking?

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

I want subtle ambience….not solar…nor do I want to start cutting up the deck in order to insert the lights. Any ideas appreciated.

The variety in string lights likely numbers in the hundreds. I suspect it’s a personal choice issue. I happen to like the Chili Pepper ones.

The fact that they are all "String" lights offers the opportunity to STRING them. That could be as simple as cup hooks, velcro, staples, wrapping around a top rail, etc. Certainly a power source should be handy.

Ambiance could be as simple as mini Christmas tree strings, using clear/white light bulbs.

Lights for decking to create an effective ambience?

I’ve used small holiday lights, orange and white. I strung them through my trees and along my fence line and they provide plenty of light. I recommend at least one strand of white to add enough light to see.

are there deck railin g adaptors for pathway lights ?

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

we have solar path lights with removable pointed stakes. Are there adapters that can replace the ground stakes and mount on a deck?

I like your idea. Here’s something to look at; http://www.seacoastlighting.com/page/page/5838178.htm
